Day 4: Showing up everyday
So I started believing in myself again, took initiative and now am looking at day four, practice.
Practice, to me, means making space to do so so that there is no excuse. Setting up a routine and sticking to it. And most of all, it’s defending that illusive time, time that is so hard to come by, time which is so much more precious than money.
If we only had time. Isn’t that what most of us say? If we had time to enjoy life, to do that project we keep talking about, to get better at drawing, programming, writing. I had to let go of trying to make excuses to people a long time ago because honestly, there will never be enough time. I was simply going to have to make it.
A big part of doing your work is defending your time and your attention so you can do your work.
Right now, I am writing a series about design principles, and other wonderful writing ideas. I will be looking back to my 15 year old self for inspiration as I skim through pages and pages of simply writing. It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be hard. But in the end, it will all be worth it.
